A loan of $2,050 helped a member to buy more radios to sell.


Lotus Group's story

Gerald is in his early 30s. He is married with three children, one of which is still going to school. He has been running a radio retail shop for about two years now. He is really hardworking. He works from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m., and he is able to make a good monthly profit.

This will be his 10th loan from Tujijenge Tanzania. He used the previous loan to build a small house in his village, buy a sofa set, and a TV and has paid back his loan successfully. He hopes for a loan to buy more radios to sell. Gerald's dream is to one day be an international businessman.

He will share this loan with his loan group, Lotus, which totals 11 members. The members of the group will hold each other accountable for paying back the loan.
