A loan of $1,500 helped a member to improve her stall and to buy oil, disposable plates, etc.

Las Manzanitas Group's story

A cordial welcome from your Peruvian brothers! Today I will tell you about the group "Las Manzanitas." It is a group made up of nine members who are just starting their first cycle. But they have known each other for a long time because their businesses are in the same area. They all have big dreams and the desire to continue growing personally as well as in their businesses.

Marleny is a member of the group and is a young single mother of 30 who lives with her two minor children, who are her only motivation to struggle every day. She works selling french fries with hot dogs, sandwiches, broasted chicken, etc., in a place located in the corner of a popular street in her town. She has had this business for more than three years. She only sells products during the afternoon because in the mornings she takes care of her small children.

She will invest part of her loan in improving her stall and the rest in purchasing needed ingredients to prepare and sell her products such as oil, disposable plates, toothpicks, special wrappers for her sandwiches, etc.

Her dream is to improve her little stall to offer a more comfortable place where her customers can enjoy their delicious dinners -- especially the french fries and hot dogs that are their favorites.

Marleny tells us: "Thanks to the Edaprospo team and the people of Kiva for their total support of entrepreneurial people." Marleny is the first from the left, dressed in a black sweater and red turtleneck.

In this group: Marleny, Marco Antonio, Casilda Maria, Elida, Maria, Abraham, David Jose*, Aydee, Jose Luis
