A loan of $1,200 helped to buy supplies for his farming business.

Jose Patricio's story

Jose operates a farming and livestock business. He lives with his wife and seven children and is well-regarded in the neighborhood. He grows maize and raises cattle, work that he learned from his father. He works, with help from his children, from 5:00 in the morning to 4:00 in the afternoon. He has operated the business for eight years and owns his own land.

Jose is applying for a loan that he will use to buy fertilizers and pesticides for his next crop. The risk he runs, he says, is that there will be too little rain or some other problem with the weather that will affect his yields.
His goal is to continue working for his family. He wants to increase his production, sell his crop and create the best possible environment for his family.
