A loan of $775 helped to pay farm laborers.

Horacio's story

Horacio, 50, and his wife, Josefina, have two children, only one of whom still lives at home.
He has operated a farming business for 23 yars and now has seven 'parceles" of land. He grows platanos, oranges and coffee. "I grow more oranges than anything else", he says, "The land is well-suited to fruit farming, so I only plant a little coffee". He harvests his orange crop every four months so he has to take good care of his trees in order to get the best results. Most of the produce grown here goes to cities across the country.

Horacio borrowed from MFP once before and is committed to repaying this loan in the agreed-upon time. He is a member of the Nuevo Amanecer de Huacamayo community bank and says that he likes working with the other members.
Horacio will use this 2000 new soles loan to pay farm laborers to help him clear his land so that he can plant his next crop of oranges and platanos.
