A loan of $475 helped to buy farm animals, firewood, flour and oil.

Alice Ncha's story

Alice is happily married and blessed with six children. She lives with her family in a six-bedroom house located in the North West Region of Cameroon. She has encountered many challenges in her life, including a lack of adequate capital to start up a business, a low income which has made it difficult to provide for even basic needs, the theft of some of her farm animals, and the death of some members of her family. But joining GHAPE in 2010 allowed her see some light on the horizon because she now has access to cheap and affordable business and financial services, good loan repayment terms, and training on life skills and on business/marketing techniques. She is applying for a loan to buy more crates of chicks and pigs, and feed for them to eat. She will also use the loan to buy flour, vegetable oil and firewood. This loan will allow her to improve her family's life as well as her business and her community, and build a place to store firewood so that it does not get wet when it is raining.
