A loan of $975 helped to buy meat and vegetables.

Elva's story

Elva, 26, is married to Percy with whom she has two children who she raises with much love. They live in their own house they acquired after many years of work. She plants on land she inherited from her father. A short time ago she got the idea of leasing a stand in one of the capital city’s most important markets where she goes to twice a week to sell her products (potatoes, peas, lima beans and other vegetables) as well as beef. She does very well in her business because her secret is selling what she produces herself thus obtaining more income because she does not buy from third parties. “There are days when I don’t have enough and have to buy other products in my town,” she affirms. She belongs to the “Productores Huallhua” communal bank and this is her first MFP loan. She promises to be punctual with her installment payments. She enjoys working with her group because they all help each other out. She will use this money to buy kilos of meat and sacks of vegetables to stock her business.
