A loan of $400 helped to purchase approximately 700 heads of cheese.

Clotilde's story

Clotilde is 56 years old and is married to Teodoro. They have six children together. They currently live alone in the home she inherited from her mother thirty years ago. Ever since she married her husband, she started working with livestock. Currently she has five cows, from which she obtains milk to make cheese. Thirty-five years ago, she met a miner who suggested she bring her heads of cheese to the mine workers, and she now still takes her cheese to the same mining camp every two weeks. Little by little she gained the customers she now has, and she brings them large amounts of cheese, which is why her own production is not enough and she has to buy more from other stock farmers. She is happy because she has been able to make a very good profit and even provide her children with a good education. Now she wants to put together enough money to buy more dairy cows, so that she can produce more cheese. She belongs to the solidarity group Estrellitas and this is her first loan with MFP. She is certain that she will be able to improve her business with the financial support she is receiving. She also promises to make her payments on time, since she prides herself on being a responsible person. Clotilde will invest this money in the purchase of approximately 700 heads of cheese.
