Solange's story

Solange is 30 years old and lives in Benin. She dropped out of secondary school. She is unmarried but has two children to support. One of the children is her own. Her child is in school. Solange lives alone with her children and ensures by herself that the diverse household expenses are covered.

To meet her diverse needs and those of her children, Solange has been selling corn out of her home and via the distribution system for two years. Secondarily, she sells charcoal. She gets her supplies from a region in Benin. Thanks to the revenues her business generates, Solange helps cover the different household expenses. To satisfy the needs of her burgeoning customer base, she is requesting a loan from ALIDé for the first time.
