A loan of $1,225 helped to purchase a dairy cow and feed for cattle.

Irma's story

Irma is 43 years old. She lives in a small village in the Sagarejo District with her family: her husband Gia and their two children, who are 18 and 20 years old. The younger son serves in the Army and the elder is a student. Gia works in construction and gets a service fee for the work. Irma runs an agricultural business. She has two milking cows and sells milk in nearby villages. The total average monthly income of the family is 800 Lari. Irma requested a loan for purchasing an additional dairy cow and feed. She will purchase hay, which will be used for feeding the cows during the fall and winter seasons. Hay is cheap now and the price increases by 30-40% in the fall months. Irma saves significantly on the costs of feeding the cattle. Since the cows will be fed properly in winter, they will give a planned amount of milk to the family. This will help Irma to increase her dairy farm and improve the living conditions of the family
