Meat is from Kampot province, where he operates a farming business for his main income. He is 28 years old, married, and has two young kids. Meat's spouse works in the same type of business. This couple helps each other to maintain healthier crops and increase their revenue upon harvest.
Meat aims to expand his business and grows various kinds of seasonal crops such as vegetables, beans and corn. Therefore, he will gradually work out his plans to achieve his goal.
Recently, Meat has been involved in fishing for additional income, yet he doesn't own a boat for these activities. As a result, Meat would like to take out a loan from HKL and Kiva to purchase a boat for fishing. Meat hopes that Kiva lenders will help him in improving his business as well as his living conditions.
Hattha Kaksekar Limited is one of the largest and most successful microfinance institutions (MFIs) in Cambodia. The organization provides microfinance services to the poor, particularly women, in urban and rural areas. Kiva lenders’ funds will be used to expand the outreach of HKL’s financial services to a greater number of clients in rural areas of Cambodia.
