A loan of $1,150 helped to buy wood to continue with his work as a carpenter.

Jose Luis's story

José Luis is 27 years old and lives in a house that he bought with his partner, 31-year-old Delia, and their three children. He is a carpenter, and [has] made furniture for the past three years in a space that he converted in his home. Additionally, he has a plot of land where he grows coffee and cocoa.

Normally, in his carpentry shop, he relies on the support of a colleague, who helps varnish or put the finishing touches on the wood. He commented that his main customers are his neighbors, but they also bring their furniture to other communities to sell. José enjoys his work because it generates a good income [that allows him] to continue improving, and above all, [contributes] to the well-being of his family. His greatest wish is that the furniture he produces, and brings to the surrounding areas to sell, becomes more well-known to the point that he has to enlarge his carpentry shop.

This is his first loan with MFP and he thanks all the people who make it possible for him to obtain [such a loan]. He also [accepts] the commitment to make his loan payments on time. With the 3,000 nuevos soles that he is requesting, he will purchase wood to continue his work as a carpenter.
