Gopal's story

Gopal is 32 years old and married. He has two daughters aged 10 and 12 who are attending school. His father is ill, so all of his family members are depending on him. He is the only income provider for his family. Gopal works hard to provide the basic needs for his family. He runs a general store in his village in the state of Odisha. He has been running the general store for 16 years and earns an income from his business. He sells items like rice, lentils, spices, wafers etc. through this shop. He requested a loan of 50,000 Indian Rupee (INR) to buy more stock and variety of lentils, spices and rice that he currently sells. He says that his business expansion can earn him good returns. He hopes to build a concrete house for his family and send his children to English medium school.
