Genngai Lom Group's story

Kimboilhing (the lady who raised her hand in the photo) is 34 years of age and her husband is a daily wage labourer who does all kinds of odd jobs to meet the family’s expenses. They have three school-going children.

She dreamed of having her own house. So, she borrowed a loan from WSDS, and with that amount she purchased a loin (loin loom, a kind of backstrap loom) and started weaving traditional attire, mostly women’s clothing.

Kimboilhing plays an active role in sending her children to school. Now she wants to avail another loan to continue her business and ultimately build her own house.
