Ayacucho, Peru / Grocery Store

A loan of $400 helped to improve her store by stocking stews, vegetables, jams, cleaning products, etc.

Elizabeth's story

Elizabeth, 46, is a very happy and very hardworking woman. She lives in her own home with her 46-year-old husband Chinee and their two children, to whom they wish to offer a better life. Elizabeth has had a grocery store in her house for five years that her husband and children help her manage. Her customers like to be waited on and find all the items they need to prepare their meals. That is hard when her shelves are empty and she doesn't have much stock. Then Elizabeth uses loans to restock her merchandise.

This is her third loan cycle with MFP, and she is happy to have this financial support to grow her business. She is also comfortable being part of her communal bank because the members support each other's progress. She will use the 1,000 nuevos soles to improve her store by stocking stews, vegetables, jams, cleaning products, etc.
