A loan of $575 helped to buy cleaning products (detergent, bleach, soap) and groceries (rice, sugar, vegetables, etc.) for her shop.

Cirila's story

Cirila, 42, is married to Clemente, 50. They live in the house they bought thanks to their day-to-day efforts to improve their quality of life.

She has a small grocery store, where she sells food and other household products. She started this business two years ago and is debt-free, thanks to her hard work. She works alone or sometimes her husband helps her, but he is more often in the fields taking care of the cocoa and coffee crops. She does not like it when her shop is almost empty of stock and she needs to supply it, and so she gets loans to help her improve her business.

This is her eighteenth credit with Kiva partner MFP. She is happy to have this opportunity once again, as it enables her to keep her business adequately supplied. She feels comfortable working with the members of MFP, who help her with her plans for her business.

She will use the 1,500 soles ($575) to buy cleaning products (detergents, bleach, soap) and groceries (rice, sugar, vegetables, etc.) for her shop.
