A loan of $650 helped to buy toner and paper in larger volume.

Julie's story

Julie is 27 years old, married and the mother of two children of 6 and 2 years old, who she dreams of becoming successful professionals. For this reason to complement the family income and improve their well-being, she has been running her own business since 2009, offering a photocopying, internet, printing, transcription and mobile phone service. The main customers of her business are young students and children accompanied by their parents, who are looking to complete homework and for this reason they visit Julie's business, which she opens daily to the public from 7 in the morning until 9 at night.

Her business has gone very well for her and she plans to expand it. One of her goals is to improve the place she is renting, and later on to obtain her own premises. At the moment her biggest challenge is to have sufficient working capital, so as to buy toner and paper in greater volume and to undertake precautionary maintenance on all the computers. With her Kiva loan, her second loan from Fundación Mario Santo Domingo, she will buy stock in bulk and at a discounted price, very useful for the growth of her customer base which is increasing.

Julie has the goal of increasing her income and with her Kiva loan she is sure she will start moving upwards towards meeting her expectations.
