Dora Sabina's story

Dora now lives in the city of Santo Domingo de los Tsachilas. Santo Domingo is located between the mountains and the coast of Ecuador, making it a link between the various Ecuadorian highways that connect cities such as Quito, Cuenca, Esmeraldas, and others. Therefore, it is an important Ecuadorian commercial center; it is home to most of the main Ecuadorian markets. This city has a humid and temperate climate; the temperature varies between 18 and 28 degrees Centigrade. Santo Domingo is home to the Tsachilas, an ethnic group that maintains its traditions such as: clothing, language and other customs.

Dora is 59 years old, and she started her business 18 years ago. She has a small store where she sells food and other products. She is not married and has no children, so she devotes all of her time to her small business. She works almost every day in her store, because her dream is to see it grow. She is requesting a Kiva loan so that she can expand her store by purchasing more products that are basic necessities at a better price. With these products, she will generate more income and grow as an entrepreneur.
