A loan of $575 helped to purchase manure and fertilizer for her crops.

Sofia's story

Sofía, 33, lives in the city of Ocoña with her partner and their two small children. She is very humble, kind and hardworking, and is devoted to raising her family. Unfortunately, she needed to work from a young age to support her parents and could not consider a career, but she would have liked to do so. In his spare time Sofía likes to watch movies with her little ones, and sometimes cooks a delicious shrimp chowder to share with her family.

With much effort and enthusiasm, Sofía works daily as an agricultural laborer on a farm in her city. She also has a small field of her own which she farms. She works approximately 12 hours per day and enjoys her work.

Sofía is very grateful to the Kiva lenders, and thanks to their assistance she will be able to purchase manure and fertilizer for her crops. She hopes that her crops will develop properly so that at harvest time she will be able to sell enough to increase their income, which little by little will be used for the education and welfare of her children.
