A loan of $300 helped to hire another plot of farmland to grow more yams.

Pov's story

Pov S. is 35 years old and with her husband, she has two small businesses to help her family have a good living. She owns a plot of farmland growing yams. Everyday she has to go to her farmland to take care of her crops. Sometime she waters the farmland and takes out the grass, which is not necessary and harms the yam crop. After the farm work, she still has three school-age children to take care of. She always cooks and looks after the children and sometime she teaches lessons to the children. Her husband works collecting palm juice to refine to sugar cane and sells it to the local market. Normally, he makes $5 of income per day.

Because the yam output makes more income to support the household, she would like a loan from Kiva to hire another plot of land to grow more yams.
