A loan of $1,150 helped to purchase 200 sacks of natural fertilizers for her corn crops.

Vilma's story

Vilma is 34 years old, and is married to Cirilo. Together they have one son, and were able to build the house they live in as a result of their hard work in farming and agriculture. "Even though it is built from poor materials, it's my own house," Vilma says. Vilma makes a living farming corn, potatoes, peas and other crops, and is always tending them with fertilizer and giving them attention so that pests do not damage them. Through much hard work, Vilma is able to get a good price for the goods she sells in several cities around her region. In the early stages of the growing cycle, Vilma works alone tending her crops. When harvest time arrives, however, she contracts help assist in picking the produce.

Vilma is a member of the community bank "Productores Huallhua," and this is her eighth loan with MFP. She promises to continue her record of prompt loan payments, and mentions that she enjoys being a member of the community bank group as it is a supportive community. Vilma plans to use the support from this loan to purchase 200 sacks of natural fertilizers for spreading on her corn crops.
