A loan of $775 helped to buy thousands of kilograms of seasonal citrus fruits to distribute in the capital.

Edwin's story

Edwin is 42 years old, is married, and has two children. He inherited his house from his parents 30 years ago. Two years ago he started a business buying and selling fruit. He transports the fruit himself, delivering large quantities from the distributors to factories that make juices and sodas in the capital city.

He reports that he makes the most income from papayas, since this is the fruit that is consumed the most. His business is profitable, since he does not have a lot of competition. Citrus fruits are now coming into season, so he wants to be in a position to meet his customers' needs.

He belongs to the supportive group“Estrellitas”, and this is his fourth loan with MFP. In all this time his business has benefited from these loans. He has learned to invest and make profits thanks to his group. He promises to be punctual in repaying his loan.

Edwin will use the loan proceeds to buy thousands of kilograms of seasonal citrus fruits to distribute in the capital.
