A loan of $975 helped to buy 150 sacks of manure.

Justina's story

Justina, 45, lives with Epifanio, her husband; they have four children. “Since I was a little girl my parents taught me how to work the land. Since then I work caring for crops,” she affirms. For the last 35 years rising very early has become her usual habit. She enjoys agriculture, an activity that provides her with economic support. Her main crops are potatoes, peas and lima beans that she grows in her own fields that were passed down to her from her parents. Her experience in agriculture was useful for her to obtain good quality products. “I fertilize each furrow with natural barnyard guano which is why I get good results,” she affirms.

She belongs to the “Productores Huallhua” communal bank and this is MFP loan #9. In all this time she’s used the money to improve her business which is why she promises to be punctual with her installment payments. In addition, she enjoys working with her group because they help each other out. Justina will use the money from this loan to buy 150 sacks of natural fertilizer for her potato crop.
