A loan of $1,500 helped to buy potato seeds with half the money and sacks of fertilizer with the other half.

Albina's story

Albina is 49 years old, and is married to Evaristo with whom she has two children, one 24 years old and the other 9 years old. They built their house with lots of hard work on the side of a mountain. For 20 years, Albina has dedicated herself to the labors of the countryside, especially agriculture. When she married her husband, she began working even more diligently as the birth of her children was near. Her main products are: potatoes, peas, beans, and rice, though her main crop is potatoes.

Albina is intelligent, and she knows how to negotiate the sale of her products. She travels to the city of Lima with each harvest, and she also sells part of her harvest in the main market of near her home. Her goal is to save enough money to buy a car and to be able to travel more easily as the closest city to her house is an hour and a half drive.

This is her tenth loan with MFP which ensures she will be punctual with her payments. Albina belongs to the communal bank "Las Aguilas" (The Eagles), and she is pleased to increase her income and save money. The large planting season is getting closer, therefore Albina will buy potato seeds with half the money and sacks of fertilizer with the other half.
