A loan of $500 helped a member to expand her husband's automobile workshop.

Nighat's Group's story

Mrs Nighat, a 35-year-old woman, is a mother of six children living in one of the poorly developed areas of Rawalpindi, Pakistan. With the meager salary of her husband, she is finding it difficult to run her kitchen and to meet the needs of her children.

She is a member of an 3-person lending group and requested for a loan of RS 15,000 from KIVA partner BRAC Pakistan to invest in the expansion of her husband's automobile workshop, which he has been running for 15 years.

She is confident that the loan can help the family to increase her husband's income.
