A loan of $150 helped a member to buy materials for building a proper toilet.

Chay's Group's story

Chay, 58, is a married mother. Her family lives in a thatched house located in the Sa Ang district of Kandal province, Cambodia. Chay and her husband have been working for others for a fee for eleven years to earn a living. Together, they can earn approximately 20,000 KHR per day to meet family’s needs. This is the first loan for Chay with Kiva’s partner, VisionFund, while the other group member has been with VisionFund for three cycles. Chay is leading the group of two to request a loan with VisionFund. She is going to use her portion to buy materials for building a proper toilet, which includes brick, clay, a tile roof, and a latrine slab. She hopes that her family will have good health, so she can focus on her income-generating activities to improve the lifestyle of her family.
