A loan of $125 helped a member to build a decent toilet for her family's use.

Norn's Group's story

Norn is 58 years old and lives in a rural village in the Sa Ang district of Kandal province. She has five children, of whom one daughter is still dependent on her and works for others for a fee. She and her husband have struggled to make a living by working in the local area for ten years. The current business earns them about KHR 10,000 per day to meet their family’s needs. Norn has been with Kiva’s partner, VisionFund, for three cycles and completely paid back her previous loans. She used them to better support her family’s living conditions. Now she is leading a group of two female members who live in the same village to apply for a loan with VisionFund for the purpose of building a decent latrine for individual family use. She hopes this loan will enable her family to improve their health and general hygiene.
