A loan of $775 helped to buy a new motor for his motocarro. If there is enough money left over, he will get ten sacks of natural fertilizers “guana de corral” for his crops.

Antonio's story

Antonio, age 47, is married to Elva. They have five children, but they now only live with four of them. The house where they have lived for three years is his aunt’s.

“My son will study for a professional career, and I therefore want to increase my income. That way I will give him a better quality of life,” he states.

His main income was centered on agriculture. However, four years ago, thanks to MFP, he got a “motocarro” [three wheeled motorized vehicle]. He works with it every day transporting the people from his area. “When I started I did not have a lot of competition. In time, there were more motocarros. However, I still continue getting income,” he comments. He now wishes to improve his motocarro because it needs general maintenance.

He belongs to the “Santiago de Chauca” communal bank. This is his second loan with MFP. He pledges to make his payments punctually. Antonio will use the loan to buy a new motor for his motocarro. If there is enough money left over, he will get ten sacks of natural fertilizers, “guana de corral,” for his crops.
