A loan of $1,500 helped to buy perfumes, creams, cosmetics and clothing.

Vicenta Teodora's story

The communal bank La Sirena meets every 15 days in the neighborhood of La Sirena in the city of Manta. It is a city known for its beautiful beaches which are visited throughout the year, and for being a city of singular beauty with many tourist attractions. Here lives Vicenta, 56, who is married and has three adult, independent children. Her husband is retired.

She and her husband have a house with apartments that they rent. She also earns an income with her small business of selling clothes, sheets, Avon, Esika and Yanbal products (beauty products, cosmetics, perfumes and women's accessories). Every day she goes out into the city to work, and she also sells from home where she has display cases and receives her best-known customers. She delivers her products on credit and collects payment every eight days. For over eight years she has been in business and it is going well.

This loan is to buy perfumes, creams, cosmetics and underwear. She has been in the communal bank for three loan cycles and is its acting president. She likes receiving help through the loans.

Her goal is to stay healthy.
