A loan of $1,200 helped to buy clothes, perfumes, creams and cosmetics.

Erika Patricia's story

The communal bank Mujeres Triunfadoras meets every 15 days in the neighborhood of La Pradera in the city of Manta. The city is known for its beautiful beaches that are visited all year round and for being a city of unsurpassed beauty with many touristic attractions.

Here lives Erika, she is 24 years old and has a relationship of cohabitation, with a son who is one year and a half old. Her husband is a merchant. She is a housewife and in order to obtain her own resources to be able to help her husband with the household expenses she sells clothes of all kinds and products of Lebel (beauty products, cosmetics, perfume and accessories for women). She works three days a week for two to three hours daily.

She has to take her young son when she goes selling because she doesn't have any place where to leave him. It's a little uncomfortable but she still does it because what her husband earns is not enough to cover the household expenses. She leaves her products on credit and charges every eight days. She has been doing it for over three years and is doing very well, what she sells more are cosmetics, because they are very good.

The loan is to buy clothes, perfumes, creams, and cosmetics. She has been in the Communal Bank for a year and she likes it because payments are easy to make. Her dreams are to go on in her business while improving her life.
