A loan of $1,450 helped to buy and provide maintenance for her motor rickshaw and offer better service to the population.

Maria Jose's story

Maria Jose is forty-three years old, married, and has two children who are of age. For work she offers a motor rickshaw service (that consists of transporting people with a seat in the front part of the motor rickshaw. She's had the business for two years when the idea emerged after she got together with some neighbors and they formed a cooperative providing said service. Currently the business has grown thanks to its acceptance by the citizens as it's a cheaper means of transport. Her dreams and goals are to educate her two children since they are currently studying in college. She needs the funding to provide maintenance for the motor rickshaws and offer better service to the population.
