Have you all a good morning! Receive warm greetings from all Peruvians.

Isolina is one of the members of the Grupo Maravillas, which is almost six months old and is formed by ten members, including three men. All of them are independent and they run their own businesses.

Isolina is 39 years old and lives with the father of her three children, two of them schoolchildren and the last of only one year old. She is an entrepreneurial woman, wanting to be successful and support the maintenance of the household with her income from her small beauty salon, located in her home. Isolina is also engaged in farming and raising small animals in small quantities (guinea pigs, chickens, rabbits, etc.) that provides her with casual income.

The loan she is requesting is to buy dyes, shampoo, conditioner, etc. because festivities in her town are approaching and that increases the visit of her clients. Isolina is very grateful for the support EDAPROSPO and the team of Kiva is giving her to grow her business. She hopes to fulfil her dream of renting a better place for her Beauty Salon, so she can provide a good service to her assiduous clients.

Isolina is the third from the left, dressed in a gray vest, a pink sweater and a blue cap. At the top, there are Angel with a blue shirt and Crisly with a black sweater.

This is a Group Loan

In a group loan, each member of the group receives an individual loan but is part of a larger group of individuals. The group is there to provide support to the members and to provide a system of peer pressure, but groups may or may not be formally bound by a group guarantee. In cases where there is a group guarantee, members of the group are responsible for paying back the loans of their fellow group members in the case of delinquency or default.

Kiva's Field Partners typically feature one borrower from a group. The loan description, sector, and other attributes for a group loan profile are determined by the featured borrower's loan. The other members of the group are not required to use their loans for the same purpose.
