A loan of $150 helped a member to buy fertilizer for her farmland.

Thyhoeurng's Group's story

Thyhoeurng is a 29-year-old mother of three children: two daughters and one son, all of whom are still dependent on her and are in school. She has been earning a living through farming rice on one hectare of farmland for four years to support the family. The current business earns her about KHR 20,000 per day and she manages to save about KHR 10,000 each day after daily expenses.

This is the second microloan for Thyhoeurng’s group of two members with Kiva’s partner, VisionFund who live in the same village of Mongkul Borey district of Banteay Meanchey province. She completely paid back the loan which has helped improve her family's standard of living. Now leading her group to request for a new loan with VisionFund, Thyhoeurng will use her portion to buy fertilizers for her farmland. She hopes this loan will enable her to earn more income so as to save some money to buy a mini-tractor for use in her field
