A loan of $675 helped a member to buy fertiliser and pay the cost of labour.

Sabougnouma 3 Group's story

The members of the SABOUGNOUMA 3 group are married women. They are on average 40 years old with four children and live in polygamous families in Nagnassoni, one of the villages in SIKASSO.
They cooperate with the Soro Yiriwaso micro finance institution in order to successfully complete their agricultural activities during the winter.
This is their second loan from the institution, the previous loan was correctly repaid.
The main product cultivated by Djeneba is sorghum, she is standing in the middle.
With her loan she plans to buy soil products and fertiliser and pay the costs for labour to maintain one hectare.
After harvesting, the production is sold in the village and at the market in SIKASSO, to a clientele of men and women.
She hopes to make an average profit of 95.000FCFA for each piece of land.
This profit will enable her to pay for her loan and help her husband with daily expenses.
