A loan of $325 helped to buy more bags of rice, beans, vegetables, and gallons of vegetable oil.

Florence's story

Florence prepares and sells plain rice with either tomato or bean sauce to school children. She also garnishes her dishes with vegetables like carrots, cabbage, cucumbers, etc to make them more appetizing. She is a married woman with two children. The children are in school now.

She wants to use her new loan to buy more bags of rice, beans, gallons of vegetable oil, and vegetables to expand her operation. She hopes to start saving to be able to pay for the children’s education.

Florence is a member of the group called “Gye Nyame” (meaning Only God). Group members agree in principle to guarantee for each other to repay the loan.
