A loan of $575 helped to buy alfalfa seeds and natural fertilizers.

Maria's story

Maria is 48 years old and has lived with Oscar, her husband, for 22 years. They have six children, but now they only live with four of them. Thanks to her good character she has been able to face many problems. She has rented land and this motivates her to work harder, since she has to pay the rent each year. Her primary plants are potato, corn, peas and beans, which she cares for with a lot of dedication since she depends on them for her economic income. But, allowing that the harvest is only once a year, she also works in raising animals like hens and sheep. She even has a cow and a calf, which produce milk that she sells for two Nuevo soles per liter. In this manner, she obtains additional income.

She is part of the lending group "Hualahoya al progreso" and this is her second loan with MFP. In all of these years of intense work and a lot of dedication she has had good results with her business. Therefore, she promises to be punctual with her repayments. In each meeting with her group she encourages responsibility.

Maria will invest this money in buying alfalfa seeds, as well as natural fertilizers for the two hectares of agricultural land that she will plant on.
