A loan of $575 helped to buy plantains, vegetable and other foods such as rice, eggs and oils.

Ofelia's story

Ofelia is 57 years old and is a very friendly and hardworking woman. Her partner is Teófilo, who is a nurse technician and the father of her three daughters. They all live, together with their three grandchildren, in their own house which they bought as the product of many years of hard work

She earns her living selling food products from a table which she sets up in front of her home. She started this business 10 years ago due to financial necessity, and slowly it grew with the support of her partner. She likes this work because it allows her to stay at home and look after her children and grandchildren. On the other hand, she does not like it when she can't sell all of her products and they go to waste causing her some loss. However this does not discourage her and she improved her sales calculations to buy what is necessary and avoid food going bad.

This is her loan number 11 with the MFP institute and he feels grateful for the financial support which allows her to put her plans into action.

She is happy with her communal bank because she considers it to be a united and supportive group. With the amount she is asking for of 1500 nuevos soles she will buy plantains, vegetable and other foods such as rice, eggs and oils at wholesale prices.
