A loan of $775 helped to purchase organic fertilizer and hire laborers to work her land.

Marleni's story

Marleni is 28 years old and lives in the house she inherited from her parents. She has two children: Roy, who is ten, and little Britza, who is three. They are her reason for moving forward in order to offer them a better quality of life.

She has managed to obtain her own land in order to grow cacao and coca leaves, which are the plants that support her business. During the harvest season, she hires laborers in order to pick the fruit more quickly, because she would not be able to finish in time by herself. She sells the harvest in the city, which is six hours away from her community. She has been in this business for ten years and has acquired much knowledge about what these types of plants need in order to grow best.

This is her third loan with MFP. She has paid off her previous loans on time and expects to do the same now. As a member of her communal bank, she is very well-loved by her fellow members.

This time around, she will use the 2,000 nuevos soles to purchase organic fertilizer and also to hire laborers to help her fertilize.
