A loan of $1,150 helped to increase the products in her store, purchasing rice, sugar, preserves, noodles, milk, and other items.

Marlene's story

Marlene is 32 years old and a kind woman. She lives in a house that she bought together with her partner Heber. They live there with their two children Frans and Jack, who they want to give a better future. Her grocery store is one of the most popular in the area since it is the largest and the place where you can find all your groceries and other products (rice, sugar, noodles, preserves, beverages, cleaning products, stews, etc.) The friendliness that she possesses is the trait that has made her business the preferred by her neighbors, who don't hesitate to shop starting very early, since they know that it is the first store to open. What she enjoys most about her job is that the people feel good about buying their products. She has worked 4 years in this capacity and considers the most difficult part to be traveling an hour from her town to purchase more merchandise for her business. For the future, she hopes that her business will be still more attractive and will also sell office supplies. This is her third loan with MFP and once again she feels happy for the financial support that they have given her to continue with her business. Likewise, she is grateful for the members of her community bank because they are women who know how to get ahead and she learns from their example. With the 3,000 nuevos soles (Peruvian currency), she will be able to increase the products in her store, like: rice, sugar, preserves, noodles, milk, and others).
