A loan of $400 helped to hire day laborers to fertilize her fields.

Domitila's story

Domitila, 30, is a modest, hardworking woman. She lives in her own home with her partner, 39-year-old Justiniano, and their three children, whom she wishs to give a better life. She plants cacao and plantains. Very early each morning, she works her land because she knows that the money from her harvest depends greatly on the quality of her produce. This is also what she treasures about her work, that is, she feels that the months of labor have born fruit. She has been farming for 10 years and believes that fumigating the land is the most difficult part. In the future, she wants to buy additional plots to grow more cacao. Her current priority is hiring day laborers to pull weeds and fertilize her land.

This is her second loan cycle with MFP, and she is pleased to know that she has financial support that will ensure that she can continue with her business. She is also grateful to her communal bank for giving her the opportunity to work with them. She will use the loan of 1000 nuevos soles to hire day laborers to help her fertilize the land.
