A loan of $400 helped to buy silver jewelry.

Emma Carola's story

Emma belongs to the “Los Hijos de Qolquewasi” (Children of Qolquewasi) communal bank in the city of Cusco, Perú. She’s married and has three small daughters. Emma sells crafts, especially works in silver like decorations and jewelry; she sells them in the Cusco tourist district of Machu Picchu. She’s worked with crafts for some time now and by means of this work supports her house and helps her husband who does other things. On this occasion, she will use her loan to capitalize her activity; she will buy silver jewelry. Emma is very grateful to Kiva for allowing her to educate her daughters and to help her support herself and to develop in her activity.
