A loan of $1,150 helped to buy rice, preserved foods and supplies.

Aurora's story

Aurora is a member of the communal bank "Amigas por Siempre," in the Yarinacocha district of the department of Ucayali. She is 47 years old, married, and has 3 adult children.

Aurora has been working with the Manuela Ramos organization for 10 years. She has a business selling Chinese food. She has 2 female assistants who are in charge of cooking and tending to the customers.

With her new loan of 3,000 Peruvian soles, she will buy: 1 sack of rice, 2 bottles of Chinese dressing, 1 bottle of oyster sauce, 1 bottle of tamarind, 1/2 case of peaches, 1/2 case of pineapple preserves, and 10 packages of wontons.

She already has regular customers. "Cilindro," or roasted meat, is one of the most requested dishes. She thanks the Manuela Ramos organization for the loans that she needs so much in order to continue to be able to work.
