A loan of $325 helped a member to prepare farmland, and to buy seeds, fertilizers and gasoline for a water pump.

Pos' Group's story

Pos is a 56-year-old mother of seven children. One of her children is staying with the family and works at the rice field. Pos and her family live in a rural village of Moung Russey. They have been farming rice for over six years to support themselves. Their business struggles when there is a natural disaster like drought, which destroyed their crops. Pos obtained her first loan from VisionFund in 2010, which she has completely paid back. The first loan helped to improve the living condition of her family and also helped to expand her business. This time, Pos leads a group with one other woman to apply for a new loan. As leader, Pos will use her portion to cultivate her rice farm and then will use some part of it to buy seeds, fertilizers and gasoline for a water pump. Pos really hopes that this loan will allow her to make more income so that she can gradually expand her business and also buy a buffalo.
