A loan of $1,175 helped to buy plastic shoes.

Ashiatu's story

This is 39-year-old Ashiatu. She is married and has 4 children aged 16, 13, 8, and 6. She has 1 additional dependent who lives with her for schooling. In 2010, Ashiatu established her plastic shoes business. She began her business because she wants to gain respect in the community and to enhance her independence. This business is her only source of income. Working 7 days a week and 10 hours a day, she earns about SLL 720,000 every month from this business. She would like a loan in the amount of SLL 5,000,000. Ashiatu has already received and successfully repaid loans. She now requires a new loan in order to buy foam slippers, two slim slippers, rubber sandals, diesel slippers, and stilettos. She hopes that this loan will enable her to increase her monthly profits by approximately SLL 270,000. In the future, Ashiatu plans to rent a shop, to develop her plot of land, and to educate her children. She thanks you for your support.
