A loan of $1,475 helped to purchase tables and chairs for her stand.

Maria's story

María is 44 years old and is currently separated from her husband. She has 6 children, 2 of whom are in school and still dependent on her income. The two oldest daughters work, since they were not able to finish their bachelor’s degrees. María and her children live in their own house in the community of Kara Kara in the city of Cochabamba.

Maria’s work is selling food; every morning she sells from a spot located on the street in the same area where she lives, and in the afternoons from a food stand for the hardworking employees of a cleaning service. With the help of her children, María works a lot every day in order to get her children ahead, since they cannot count on the economic support of her husband.

The purpose of the loan is to purchase tables and chairs for the stand, with which she will improve and expand her selling conditions, and her customers will be able to eat their plates of food more comfortably. Among her dreams and goals are that her 4 sons will be able to study for a professional career, so that in this way they can have a better standard of living; and in the future, to have her own restaurant, because what María does best is cook!
