A loan of $1,875 helped a member to buy pigs.

Mukama Mwesigwa Group's story

Mukama Mwesigwa is one of the institution's oldest groups. From the loans, the group members have accumulated many assets, like motor vehicles and motorcycles, and have built homes. The group's treasurer revealed that the UGAFODE loans have just been a blessing to their businesses and families, which is the reason for their consistency. They never get in trouble from not paying back their loans, and their businesses have expanded.

Livingstone has been a member of this group since 2000. He rears pigs to supplement his meagre income as a tax driver. From these loans, he is able to meet his family's needs and educate his three children. His major challenges now are the economic crisis and high cost of fuel, which in turn affects his salary. He will use the loan to buy pigs to sell. He hopes he will be able to accumulate enough money to build his own house, since he is renting at the moment.

In this group: Robert, Martin, Sarah, Abubaker, Livingstone, Charles
