Jorge's story

Jorge is 35 years old, and he's a hard working man. His wife is Lidia, and they have two children: Lori and Nordi. This family has their own home that Jorge and other families built.

He works in agriculture which he's been doing for 8 years and that he says is going well. Through his efforts, he's been about to buys fields where he grows potatoes, beans, and peas, working alongside his wife. "While I am in the field, my wife brings lunch and then works with me," he says. Additionally he has a small grocery and convenience store in his house. His kids, after coming home from school, are in charge of the store while they do their homework at the same time. His goals are clear: improve production, expand his fields, and get a better income for his family.

He belongs to the communal bank "Punray avanzado," and this is his 10th loan with MFP. He is thankful for the trust he's received over these years of work, and he has that he likes participating in the group meetings because the members are joyful and team-minded.

Jorge will start a larger harvest this year, and he will invest the money into the purchase of 10 sacks of potato seed and fertilizer for his crops.
