A loan of $525 helped to buy ingredients to make tortillas and firewood.

Dina's story

Dina, 46, lives in a neighborhood near Chamelecón, San Pedro Sula with her husband, four children and two grandchildren. She’s been making tortillas to sell for the last 15 years. This product is in high demand because it’s usual to be eaten three times a day at each meal. She needs a 10,000 lempira loan to capitalize and buy corn, lime powder and firewood to stay in business making and selling corn tortillas. The loan is the 6th one she’s requested to keep her business stable. Her goal is to increase production to earn income needed for the home.
