A loan of $500 helped a member to buy fertilizers for her farmland.

Sophal's Group's story

Sophal, 33, is married and lives with her family in a village of the Dambae district. She has two daughters to take care of and they are still in school. To make a living, she has been farming rice and planting cassava for several years and the current business earns her family about 23,000KHR per day.

There are two members in Sophal’s group and they are both first-cycle clients with VisionFund. Sophal, who is the leader, is leading her group to apply for a loan. She will use her portion to buy fertilizers for her farmland and use a portion of it to spend on labor. She hopes to increase her family’s income from her current business so as to make a living better and keep her daughters in school.
