A loan of $325 helped to buy cleaning supplies.

Nivardo's story

Nivardo, 61, is a hardworking, determined man. He has lived with his loyal companion, his spouse, for many years since all their children are now adults and have families of their own. They built their house on a piece of land inherited from parents many years ago.

His main work is selling varied products according to the season. Sometimes he sells clothes and other kitchen supplies, bedroom accessories, items for the home, small electric appliances or food items. He sells from place to place along the city streets going house to house or to see regular customers he’s managed to win over though the years. He’s been in this business more than 20 years and sometimes his spouse helps him.

What he likes about his work is being able to alternate one type of product for another and not fall into a routine. He’s aware that certain merchandise is better received than others so he doesn’t concentrate on selling just one type of thing and is constantly varying his merchandise. Profits from this work have allowed him to cover basic household expenses and he feels very useful and happy.

This is his first MFP loan so he’s very grateful to people who make this loan possible. He also feels very good working in his communal bank because he knows most of the members and he considers them to be good people.

He will use the requested 800 new soles to buy cleaning supplies like detergent, lye, bath accessories, sponges and others to sell this season.
