Lolita is married and a mother of two dependant children. She is 31 years old and lives in Clarin, Misamis Occidental, Philippines. Lolita makes and sells furniture to earn a living and has had this business for three years. She earns 4,500 Philippine Pesos (PHP) each month doing this type of work. She has requested a loan of 5,000 PHP from GDMPC to purchase materials for furniture making. Lolita is a new member of GDMPC. In the future, she hopes to expand her business.
Gata Daku Multi-Purpose Cooperative (GDMPC) was founded in 1992 by 32 farmer-members to empower people by providing livelihood opportunities and other support services. Today, it has over 15,000 members located in upland, lowland and coastal regions of the Philippines, and offers credit, savings, education, and various social services.
